Client Background

Intervalve® Poonawalla Ltd. (Formerly known as Intervalve Ltd.) since its inception in 1987, makes the widest range of Butterfly, Gate, Ball, Globe, Dual Plate & Lift Check valves. These quality products have a high standard of design and accuracy that meet international specifications. Intervalve® Poonawalla has cornered a major market share in India's process industry. Besides, it also exports to countries like UK, USA, Germany, South-East Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

Business Requirement:

As Intervalve Poonawalla is in the business of manufacturing of variety of Valves, its design department follows the stringent process adhering to the International standards. The valve design involves extensive calculations of Design Parameters based on the Engineering logics and empirical formulae developed by the client. Design Team uses Creo software for Modelling and Detailing of these valves. However, the manual process is very tedious and time consuming. Therefore, to improve the productivity and to reduce the cycle time of the project, the client’s vision was to have a Design Automation Solution in place which would leverage hassle-free design operations. For the very reason, the client wanted the Design Automation solution which would automatically perform all complex calculations based on the customer requirements and generate outputs in CREO software.

Our Solution:

PARAM with its proven ability in CAD Customization Solutions, developed a Design Automation Solution for one of the client’s product varieties - Ball Valves. The software is a web-based solution which is developed in C# .Net and is customized to produce output on CREO Design Software. Some of the salient features of the software are as follows:  An interface to enter the project details such as – SO number, Project Number, Customer Name, Project Description, etc.  Interactive input process for capturing the design related information such as NPS Specification, Pressure Class, etc. The Ball Diameter is then calculated as per the pre-defined logic.  Ball valve Configuration Screen for Various Multiple Combination Provisions. Here, multiple parameters can be given to decide the Ball Valve Configuration.  All other design calculations necessary for obtaining the Output

Output:

1. Automatic Generation of Creo Models, part drawings with detailing & notes and Assembly Drawings with BOM.

2. Generation of Standard BOM for Orders
